Ingredients:
Makhana: 30 gms
Milk: 900 ml
Sugar: 100 gms
Pistachio: 5-6
Almond: 5-6
Cashew Nut: 5-6
Saffron/Kesar: 7-8 strands
Cardamom/Elaichi Powder: 1 tsp
Procedure:
- In a pot, add the milk to boil at medium-low temperature, stir constantly to avoid burning the milk. Reduce till half.
- Dry Roast Makhanas for 3-4 minutes.
- Make a powder out of the roasted Makhanas.
- Once the milk is reduced to half add sugar, cardamom powder, chopped dry fruits, saffron to it, boil for 5 minutes.
- Add the Makhana powder to the milk and stir making sure no lumps gets formed.
- Stir until the mixture is thick enough.
- Then take it out on a flat earthen plate or in any flat bowl.
- Keep it in the fridge for 1-2 hours to set.
- Garnish with chopped pistachio.
- Serve cold/warm.
