- 1 tsp ghee or clarified butter

- 2 Cloves Garlic smashed

- 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1/4 Cup Peanuts
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Put Makhana in a pan on medium heat and dry roast them
- Take another pan and put ghee in it
- Add cumin and mustard seeds to ghee and let it crackle.
- Now, add curry leaves, garlic and dried red chilli
- Add in peanuts and let it roast on low flame till is turns nice and crisp then add salt, turmeric.
- Add it all to the dry roasted makhana and serve with tea.
Foxnut Bhel
Ingredients
- 100 gms Cucumber: 1/2 cup peeled & diced.
- 100 gms Onion 1/2 cup diced
- 100 gms Tomato 1/2 cup diced
- 1/2 cup Potato boiled and diced
- 1/2 cup Pomegranate Arils
- 10 gms Fresh Cilantro 2 tbs finely chopped
- 8 gms Fresh Mint 2 tbs finely chopped
- 3 gms Green Chili 1 tsp finely chopped
- 2 tbsp Lemon Juice or Lime
- 1/2 tsp salto Namak – ½ tsp
- 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
- 2 tsp chaat masala
- 1 tbsp Cilantro mint green chutney
- 2 tbsp tamarind and dates sweet chutney
Method:
- Start with dry roasting the makhanas
- Put them in a ziplock and crush them with a heavy object
- Take a bowl and put chopped vegetables in it
- Add roasted peanuts, cashews, pumpkin seeds, chopped green chillie, cilantro, mint and both chutneys mentioned in the ingredients.
- Add it all together and it is ready to be eaten.
Gur Makhana
